Below you'll find information about the commission process, as well as my current prices. Please read thoroughly and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Designing Your Portrait:

I will need a detailed digital photograph of your pet. Keep in mind that photos with lots of natural light and taken closer to their eye level will work best for a painting. This painting will be of their head and chest, so try to avoid photographs that show their foreshortened body above their head. Please keep in mind that I can only paint what I can see in your photos.
Depending on the photo you choose, I may need to digitally crop the composition and will send options for you to choose from. If you need to combine multiple photos of two or more pets, we can discuss the final composition. I understand that it’s not always possible to take photos of your pet. If this is the case, we can work together to create the best painting with the photos you do have!

Please let me know if you want to edit out their collar or other items in the photograph. A simplified background helps emphasize the pet in a painting of this size, so let me know what color of background you prefer. I often paint neutral backgrounds, but think about the colors and tones you are drawn to and what will look best in your space.
If the reference photo has a detailed background, there may be an additional cost.

Lastly, let me know what you love most about the photo. What details capture your pet's personality for you?
Things to keep in mind
*Your reference photo will influence the style of the painting. If the image you choose is less detailed, the painting will be softer and low-detail. If you choose an image with a lot of detail, it will be more realistic.

*Prices are based on size of artwork, number and size of pets, and background. Please contact me if you are interested in commissioning a piece. After I hear your ideas, we can choose options that are best for you.

*Due to my process, I generally do not send in progress pictures. You will receive a picture once the painting is in it's final stage. At this point you are welcome to make any adjustments you like. I will clarify any questions I have before painting, but please make sure you have described exactly what your expectations are of the painting.

*If you are commissioning a piece for a loved one but are not sure about their preferences, gift certificates are available.
